Sanitary Cafe is no newcomer to Rockingham County. The restaurant was established in 1926 in Downtown Reidsville, N.C. It was moved in the 1940's to South Scales Street. In 1974 a new restaurant was built near by on Piedmont Street and remains there today.
After several years of working in other restaurants, Ronald & Juni Roberts, Chris Roberts and Lynn Wingfield formed a partnership and opened the restaurant back up in 2011. In 2020, the 3rd brother David Roberts and his wife Melissa took over the restaurant and is currently running it.
Sanitary Cafe is known for it's famous home cooking and was even featured in the Mid-Atlantic Magazine. They serve everything from Hot Dogs to Filet Mignon as well a a country cooked breakfast that is served all day long. Country meats and vegetables are served daily from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.
